Have you cleared the rights to your entry?

The Terms and Conditions state a couple of clauses about clearing rights to the film. These are:

  1. With this submission, the applicant confirms that they possess all rights necessary for the screening of the submitted film.
  2. The person completing the submission process must have obtained necessary permissions for the inclusion of any copyrighted music and/or images within the film or script.

Here is some good advice from our friends at intofilm.org about clearing rights and copyright compliance (particularly for young filmmakers) – https://www.intofilm.org/copyright-and-compliance

If your film does include copyright material, please ensure that you have evidenced permission from the rightsholder (which you can provide on request) for you to include and screen that copyright material in your film.

Release forms

It is good practice to ensure all contributors to your film (behind and in-front of the camera) consent to their inclusion in the film and sign a ‘release form’ to that effect.

Are you 17 or under?

Before showing your film, we will need consent to be given from your parent or guardian by way of a ‘release form’ for your contribution to the film. If you’re shortlisted then we’ll ask to see a signed copy of this before the winners’ ceremony.
